As part of the project “European Integration of Higher Education and Research in the Western Balkans,” the project team has produced the series of reports entitled “Overview of Higher Education and Research Systems in the Western Balkans” which are now available on the project Activities page under Country Reports.
With this series of reports, the project seeks to complement existing knowledge on the dynamics of higher education and research systems in the Western Balkans countries and by doing so contribute to the ongoing policy debates in the region. At the same time, the series aims to introduce these systems to the wider international audience.
The reports cover seven higher education systems in the region – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo*, FYR Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia and each of the reports represents a comprehensive overview of the higher education and research systems in the region, covering topics such as policy, governance arrangements, funding, institutional landscape, and quality, while focusing on the major reforms and trends in the recent years.
The reports will be presented at the upcoming project conference in Belgrade.
